1. Who we are

"Pennywise Finance" is the trading name used to operate this website. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, the operator of Pennywise Finance is the data controller for any personal data collected through the site. You can reach the data controller via the contact page; we'll respond to data-rights requests within one calendar month.

Our service address for written correspondence about data matters is available on request via the contact form.

2. The short version

3. What we collect and why

Calculator inputs

The figures you enter into a calculator are processed only in your browser, on your device. They are not transmitted to any server controlled by us, and we do not save them. Refreshing the page clears them.

Analytics data

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are popular, what country visitors come from in broad terms, and whether the site is performing well technically. The data we see is aggregated. We do not see anything that personally identifies you. Google may collect a truncated IP address, browser type, device type, and referring page on our behalf; details are governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

To keep the site free, we display adverts served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads they believe are relevant to you, and to measure ad performance. This may include personalised advertising, where supported and where you have consented. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via your Google Ad Settings, the EU-wide Your Online Choices page, or by rejecting non-essential cookies on this site.

Contact form / emails

If you email us, we'll see your email address and the message you send. We use that information only to reply and keep a small record of past conversations. We don't add you to any marketing list.

4. Cookies in detail

The cookies set by this site fall into three groups:

You can clear cookies and reset your choice at any time in your browser settings.

5. Lawful basis for processing

Where we process limited personal data, our lawful bases are consent (for analytics and advertising cookies, given via the cookie banner) and legitimate interests (for security logs and replying to messages you send us). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting any processing already done.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers (notably Google) operate in countries outside the UK and EEA. These transfers are made under the safeguards Google maintains, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved for use in the UK, and the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new analytics tool or change ad partners. Significant changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for 30 days.
