A small, independent UK personal finance site — built to give you fast, ad-supported tools that don't ask for your details.
Pennywise Finance publishes free calculators and plain-English guides covering UK savings, mortgages, loans, ISAs and credit. Everything you see is original work. Calculators run entirely in your browser — your numbers are never sent to a server, and we never ask for an email address.
Running and maintaining a finance site has real costs (domain, hosting, the time to keep guides accurate). To keep the tools free, we display advertising provided by Google AdSense. We do not accept payment to feature, recommend or rank specific financial products. Where a calculator links to an external site, that link is informational and never carries an affiliate fee.
Pennywise Finance is not a regulated financial adviser and we do not provide personalised financial advice. The calculators and articles are educational. For decisions involving large sums, complex tax situations, or your retirement, please speak to an FCA-authorised adviser. The free, government-backed MoneyHelper service is also an excellent starting point.
Every calculator is built from published HMRC, FCA and lender formulas. ISA allowances and tax bands are reviewed at the start of each UK tax year (6 April). Mortgage and loan formulas use the standard amortisation maths used by all UK lenders. If you ever spot a number that looks off, please tell us — we'll check and fix it quickly.
We don't collect personal information through the calculators. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages get visited, and Google AdSense to serve adverts — both rely on cookies, which is why you see a banner on first visit. The full privacy policy has the detail.
